45 Minute - Horse Drawn Boat Trip

This trip leaves the wharf and follows the canal westwards for about one mile before the horse changes ends and brings the boat back to its starting point. The length of canal for this trip is not used by motorboats, so the water is crystal clear and there are often fish to be seen. 

The boat drifts by the Royal International Pavilion and passes under two bridges before running alongside the steam railway for a short distance, making it a wonderful trip that’s suitable for all ages..

This trip can run at any reasonable time between 10am and 3pm by arrangement.

2-hour Horse Drawn Boat Trip

This trip goes in the same direction as the 45-minute version but continues to near the end of the canal. There is a 20-minute stop and a 5-minute walk to allow the breath-taking Horseshoe Falls to be viewed up close. 

Your group will drift by the Royal International Pavilion, pass under two bridges, run alongside the steam railway for a short distance, continue up the Dee Valley, pass under two more bridges and cross a small aqueduct before arriving at the Chain Bridge Hotel, overlooking the Horseshoe Falls.

After the break to visit the falls, the boat retraces its route back to the wharf, giving ample opportunity to take in all of the beautiful sights.

This trip can run at any reasonable time between 10am and 3pm by arrangement.

Please note that this trip is not suitable for very young children.

2-hour Aqueduct Trip

This trip takes place in a motor boat and goes in the opposite direction to the horse drawn boat trips. Your party passes through the Vale of Llangollen, crossing the Pontcysyllte Aqueduct en route. There is a full commentary throughout so that you don’t miss a thing, plus refreshments can be served on board.

- Suitable for older children and adults.

- This is a one-way trip, so your transport will drop you off at one end and pick you up at the other end.

- This trip runs twice a day at 12:15pm and 2:30pm.
